Mo Ying Da Yeng in HFY means No Shape, Hit Shadow.
Yao Ying Da Ying, or Have Shape Hit Shape.
In HFY we also have the saying... Mind understands, Body knows.
Now, Hendrik is also talking about "Have shape hit shape, no shape, strike impression." Where did Hendrik get these ideas from? Does Mastering Kung Fu ring the bell?
LOL!

Kung Fu Fighter,
Could you tell us what style WC you study??
Just curious, because as I've told you, Mo Ying Da Yeng in HFY means No Shape, Hit Shadow. It refers to the sweeping/clearing of Fau Kiu Space or blindside/wandering space.... space where you have no true shape or visual focus. With the Kuen Kuit comes many concepts via our long range kiu sau bridging techniques. How to safely create a bridge to an area that you can't really see your opponent, WITHOUT giving him a tool to use against you.
Therefore, you can see how it has another side to it... being Yao Ying Da Ying, or Have Shape Hit Shape. This refers to the other side of the concept. How to bridge when you do have a target to focus on.
It is especially vital against grappling as it keeps distance and time on your side. Keeps your bridging out of their preferred range.
Interesting enough, I noticed that Randy Couture uses very similar stategy in his instructions to his fighters on the UFF TV show in how to avoid takedowns.
In HFY we also have the saying... Mind understands, Body knows. It is about gaining awareness in your hands via our Saam Mo Kiu concept.
Strange to hear Hendrick using such similar terminology these days, considering his past record on the matter.
Hopefully that's an indicator that he'll gain a better understanding of the term shadow one day as well.
Nice thread!
