Memorable Battles

I would like to hear about memorable fights that list have been in.
I was in a fight with a Wing Tsun brother one time where he had his thumb (nail and all) shoved into my eyeball.
We were fighting because he was hustling the same chick he knew I wanted to go out with. He had done this several times before and I was sick of it. To top it off he was giving me a hard time saying that he was stronger than I was and even though I was ahead of him in technique he could beat me.
After a few heated words we went at it. I tapped his eyelid with a thumb to let him know I could have taken his eye and he freaked out and jammed his thumb into mine. I took him to the ground with his thumb still in my eye and pushed his face into the grass and peeled his arm back (fook-sau) pulling his thumb out of my eye and was in the process of putting a knee with all my weight into the back of his neck (a death blow not a restraining technique). Right then he started screaming "I quit" because I was rubbing his face into the ground and I let him up. I suffered permanent retina damage, but I won the fight.
Up to that time we would fight once every couple years but after that fight we never fought again.

I'm sorry to hear of your experience, being that you suffered permanent retina damage. I think it is awesome that you were able to finish the fight regardless of what happened. You show respect to your enemy when they know they have lost. That is righteous, in my mind.

I have never gotten into a fight for those reasons. One time I did end up going to the hospital because of a girl, but that was because I forgot to eat for 3 days straight due to a serious depression back in 1998... my father told me that I shouldn't let women do that to me. Relationships.... :o

Then my friend told me of a joke just recently:

So there was this dog sitting by the train tracks, minding its own business. Suddenly this train rushes by and runs over its tail, cutting it off. Just as the dog turned around to see what happened, the train cuts his head off too.

Moral of the story? Don't lose your head over a piece of tail. :D

I do remember one fight in high school that makes me laugh. During gym class this guy felt inclined to bully me by pushing a chair in front of me while I was running laps around the basketball court. I was quick enough to stop beforehand, and I threw my basketball in his face. When it hit him I kicked the chair into his crotch.

Knowing that the teacher was watching the whole thing, I allowed him to chase me into the middle of the floor. He was wildly throwing punches and kicks at me, but I just manuevered using step-slide & switching footwork until the teacher called it to a halt. I was able to evade everything he did, and that made me smile... but it wasn't anything as serious as your situation.

One thing I have learned, is that we can afford to be compassionate to our enemies when they no longer have any options, and we call the shots.
