Sifu Meng in Rio

Hi there!

It's just to let you know that Sifu Meng has already arrived in Rio de Janeiro.
At this moment, Sifu is resting a bit (I would not *bet* he's really resting - he's probably jogging or punching or kicking or anything like that), but in one hour we'll start practicing HFY.
Tomorrow, Sifu will lead a (light) HFY seminar for the Judges of the Labour Court in Rio, and on the next two days, the long HFY seminar in two parts at the Northern Shaolin Association.
Can someone let Simo Meng know his husband arrived sound and safely?

Congratulations on your upcoming seminar and for our HFY members in Brazil who have the chance to train with Master Meng once again.

When was this seminar arranged? I have to admit I was taken off guard when I saw the post today and that Master Meng was in Rio once again.

As the person who maintains the World HFY WC KF Federation web site, I want to make sure that I include each and every sponsored event in the future. As our organization grows, our web site will as well and it will be the central point of information from the Headquaters.

Hopefully Marcelo you are still planning on attending the seminar next month at the HQ (and dinner at my house).

Yes, I'll be in SF very soon, and of course I've already accepted your kind invitation for dinner!
Well, Sifu Meng announced his coming back to Rio on this forum.
But I'll write you a separate e-mail upon the oncoming workshops.

Anyway, Sifu Meng's arrived back home safe and well.

In five days, we had three workshops (one for the judges, two for the general public) and four HFY private classes. Sifu Meng has also assisted his Ip Man students: four more classes. I really do not know when and if he sleeps.

About 15 to 20 judges attended the first seminar, and about 35 to 40 persons attended the public seminars (including the last minute visit of some brothers of the Moy Yat family).

Soon I'll write more extensively on Sifu's visit... there is so many things to think of...

My Comprehension about the IV HFY Wing Chun Seminar RJ - Br

Finding the right words to effectively share with you all the reality that I was given the opportunity to live, in theory and practice, during the fourth seminar about the Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun Martial System, is such a difficult task, especially because words must suit time (right moment), space (right place) and energy.

For some people, this would be the right time, but the wrong place. For others, time would be wrong, but the place would be suitable. These two variables out of the aforementioned total of three (time, space and energy) show by themselves the size of the problem. If we'd only think of each action and reaction that could naturally arise from those three variables, we'd have at least a glimpse of the real difficulty.

People get happy when they can share what they have learnt or uncovered. This is a social phenomenon that is even more intense when something real has been found.

There are uncountable examples in history of the great power developed by men who have seen but a part of the truth. In spit of their great power, their glimpse was just a part of reality, so it was still illusion. Anyway, those glimpses always pointed to a way to somewhere.

Time, space and energy will point out when, where and how men will finally find the truth. Correct time, space and energy help men find and live reality, find and leave illusion, find and leave ignorance.

There are no unanswerable questions.

The Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun approaches it all. Its structure led men to the way and the way itself to the point.

Hung Fa Yi's history is logic. Its theory is shown in practice, in the point where reality and efficiency meet. And it goes beyond. As a Physical Education teacher who's been researching the Chinese wisdom and martial arts, I can attest to the amazing and most advanced science that these people had, things that the western science has only very recently discovered. Within Shaolin, this knowledge was even bigger. Coming from the Southern Shaolin Temple, Hung Fa Yi contains a high scientific knowledge, things that Kinesiology, Biomechanics and Physiology of Exercises only very recently have found and apply not only to Physical Education related to average physical activity, but also aiming to the best results on a high level of competition.

I have found nothing or maybe just a small part of this relationship between Physical Education and Martial Arts in some of the other styles and systems I've seen out there.

For me, it's a pleasure to share this experience, for I've been searching for it all of my life. Glimpses proved to be but simple illusions. Time, Space and Energy were uncovering a Secret, but also led me to its revelation.
Regarding Master Benny Meng, I affirm that his level of conscience is much above that of the average men, and this allows him to approach many subjects with such a high wisdom, going far beyond the different methodologies and cultures of East and West.

There was simply no disrespect to any person at all. Always in a deep and reflexive fashion, [Sifu Meng] made us analyze the principles of combat under the light of Hung Fa Yi Shaolin Wing Chun. Deeply acquainted with all of the invoked examples, Benny Meng showed the theory and the practice of HFY Wing Chun and made evident that it is extremely efficient. And he treated each person, system and style with the strictest ethics. He was a very good example of the Hung Fa Yi family, led by Grand Master Gee. Master Meng spoke highly of Grand Master Gee and it was reflected in this workshop.

It's true that I've known very few Martial Arts masters, but for the 1st time I've found more than physical qualities and skills: I've found [in Master Meng] the so acclaimed union of "body, mind and spirit" that martial arts should lead to. To be true, I've never seen such a dedication to study, teaching and divulgation of Martial Arts.

I'd be ungrateful if I did not mention the wonderful opportunity that I was given, to know new people, new warriors, new friends and new brothers. All this things have sharpened my feelings and my sensibility and give birth to a true emotion, that has literally washed my life, my body, my mind and my soul.

Now that I personally know my brothers, Si-hing Marcelo Santos and Jacques Menezes, I want to publicly thank them, for they've always been present, one way or another, assisting me always that possible, and that prepared my "cup" to receive the HFY teachings. I congratulate them both for fighting and conquering their aim by searching for Wing Chun. I hope I have helped them with the many questions I've formulated on Wing Chun and about Chinese culture and history. My thankfulness is immense, for you gave me the only chance of, by getting rid of my illusion (dreams), choosing a way that I will follow in a short or medium time. I'm working at it.

I also thank the other Si-hing that hosted all of us from São Paulo. Unfortunately, my limited memory did not allow me to save your names, but thank you for your attention and motivation. Thanks si-hing Fernando for your kindness. Thank you, si-hing Luiz Carlos Pessanha for kindly receiving us as your guests at the Northern Shaolin Association. Positive energy is so strong in that place.

To my new friends Augusto Carvalho from São Paulo and the one from Ceara (sorry, I cannot remember your name), I'd like to say that meeting you was a honor, and thank you for the attention you gave me after the seminar times, when we were training, studying and analyzing all night long what we experienced on the day time.

At last, thank you so much, Master Benny Meng, for your compassion in sharing your knowledge with my peers in Brasil. Your example of integrity, honesty, character, dedication and humility shows us how important and legitimate is the way of the Martial Arts.
