Hello Everyone

I would just like to see what everyone thinks of the following smart arse post from this character Rene Ritchie:

[QUTOE] I am still broken hearted that the VTM ignored my previous request:

Please pass this on to Benny, it's already in Dayton, and I'm sure he could think up some clever WCK connection to get it into the VTM:

X-Wing Chun would have been a fricken awesome addition

I would like to hear what Master Meng thinks about this moron and his crap talk. Indeed, I wonder what his personal agenda is when he talks such garbage. The martial arts community does not need fools like this in it's ranks, it's not a bit of wonder that the VTM ignores the twat.

Regardless of what I think of him, I take it only as a joke. And if there was ill intent, it hurts no one in my opinion. Again, whether it is Rene or another trying to play games (if that is what it truly was) I give very little energy in thought. Other than a quick smirk and move on.

Hello There

I understand your point of view AZ, but where I come from, there is such a thing as a joke with a jag. In my point of view, this joke carried the jag that Rene has used before to attack the VTM. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Gary,
As they say in court ignorance is no excuse. Rene has run out of excuses and his ignorance is showing. He would like to be taken serious as a martial artist but then he post things like this. A lack of proper guidance in his training is evident. It's hard to run a marathon when you don't even know how to walk.

I hear ya here, but regardless of what was meant by this it carries no real weight to me. Though I can understand it touching a nerve, and close to home for many here on this forum.

Unfortunatley, there will always be the internet chatter. Don't get me wrong, it gets me at times also, but I just have to remind myself, other's opinions are just that....OPINIONS! And we all know the saying about opinions. LOL!!!!!! ;)

Hello There

How are you doing, AZwingchun? Well, I too hear what you are saying. Just in the last few days, I have been watching some of the VTM archive videos which involved Wing Chun seminars by probably most of the lineages. These tapes showed how genuine serious martial artists respect each and all of their lineages. They also showed how the VTM was doing a wonderful job of documenting and preserving any information on Wing Chun they could get. Now, when I think of theses efforts by genuine martial artists, silly comments like that rubbish have no place amongst these genuine people. That's why he gets the treatment he deserves. Anyway, nice to meet you. I take it you live in Arizona? I'm from Ireland - I've been told I would burn up out there, is that true?
heelo Cang Long. How's the form? I think again Tony you have hit the nail on the head 100%. This boyo needs to think about his behaviour. I would have assumed people stopped that sort of rubbish after they were over 11 years old.

Cheerio, Gary.

And that is my point exactly! Even if other don't agree with me, as long as I am confident in myself, words of others shouldn't matter. Though I am human and have the ability to let these things get under my skin from time to time. During these times I have to remind myself of who I am, my confidence in my art.....I can then usually just shrug the comments off! ;)

As far as the heat, well we are coming very close to the 100's. Highs in the heat of summer are 115-120, the latter not being too common though.

By the way, nice to meet you....hope you have enjoyed your stay in the states.

Robert's an awesome coach who can literally improve people's WCK application ability in a few hours. Anyone in the area would be well served to check it out.

Seriously, if a person visits Robert's web page what is there on his website to indicate that he even knows Wing Chun?

Basic surface level information there James. Just like the introduction page he refers to martials arts and then combat application and then he mentions that he specialized on an emphasis in Yip Man Wing Chun. This entire website seems ambiguous and puposefully shrouded in obscurity.

No worries, many franchises get off to rocky starts, you'll find the right people, and pretty soon Dave Chun will be everywhere, like Subways and Curves...

'silly comments'

I realize the internet is absurd to begin with, but when you start having forums to comment on things people say on other forums, it's just *too* absurd. If you have a problem with anything I post here, please just nut up and respond here.

First, I am not a smart @ss. I lack the smarts.

Hello There

Oh dear, did the joke with the jag prick Rene's conscience? It seems Rene is the one who hasn't a clue what he is talking about - can't he make up his mind? Maybe he likes to talk out of the other side of his mouth! Also, he seems to have another eejit backing him up and saying Mario hasn't a clue - wow, how does he know more about me than I do about myself?! Ha.......

Cheerio, Mario.

Rene Ritchie,

You just might be right. You're not a smart @ss. A smart @ss is at least smart, albeit not in the "head" more so in the arse. Don't quite know yet if you qualify for that.

Taking things too seriously is one thing. Disregarding certain past actions of YOURS for the sake of passing judgement on a person [when you don't even know him] is quite another.

So if you are not an Internet Smart @ss, then what kind of person calls himself the "HFY Champion", calls out blasphemy against the VTM, makes indirect and condescending remarks about its curator over the course of several years, takes credit for things he only edited rather than wrote, talks about every lineage of Wing Chun and isn't even recognized by his own WC lineage, let alone even have the courage to take accountability for any of this? What do you call that kind of person in your book, Rene? And I'm not referring to Complete Wing Chun.

Considering your track record of interaction with my Sigung and the VTM and the HFY; yes MY kung fu family, I'd say that a one Mr. Mario Bava knows EXACTLY what he is talking about. Do you honestly think that after all you have done against my Sigung, that you can just casually talk about him like you do, and not expect informed people to respond in the fashion that they do??? No, you are definitely NOT a Smart @ss. There is a more accurate assortment of labels to choose from if you are looking for one.

Hello Hungman and Savi.

Savi, you said it! 100%.

To the Hungman - this trickster has two faces. Indeed, he likes to talk about Star Wars - everyone who knows about Star Wars knows about the villianous Darth Sidious, a being who has two faces also. Everyone knows what Sidious is up to - Rene, everyone knows what you're up to as well!
