Hello SiGong Hoffmann,
I'm Fabio from Rome. First of all thank you for your teachings during the IWKA Summer Camp!
Many italians peoples saw for the first time the Chi Sim Weng Chun and they are remained truly enthusiastic.
But someone has some questions now about the Weng Chun:
- there is In Weng Chun a specific Ground Work? And is it different from the work explained by GM Behring?
- The Weapons are the last part of the Wing Chun learning. Is In Weng Chun the same?
-When a student start the Dummy? And wich form(Heaven,Man,Earth)?
-In Wing Chun we study a Form and its application. Is in Weng Chun the same or a student learn also applications from other form?
Thank You SiGong.

Greetings HuoLong489 welcome to HFY108.
GM Hoffmann usually checks in pretty regularly so he will problably address your questions soon as you know he is a pretty busy man. In the mean time look around and if you have any other questions or comments be sure to post them.

Hello Fabio,
the seminar in Rome was great !
Your questions:
1. In weng chun we have groundwork. There are some simillarities to BJJ and some difference. In weng chun you learn to stand up again and not to roll with your opponent. In our Chong Kuen we have one part only for groundwork.
2. No, in weng chun you can start with weapons because we have a complete and long weapon system and historically in the past it was necessary to learn first the weapons.
3. We start with the Heaven Wooden dummy which has many similarities to "GM Yip Manīs wooden dummy form". After you learn Earth Wooden Dummy form with a lot of knee strikes, ellbow strikes, throws, groundwork and advanced footwork. And finally our secret Man Wooden Dummy, which today only know about 5 persons in the world.
4. Same
Iīm looking forward for the next italian seminar: October 29/30 in Napoli.

Thank you for your answers Sigong,
May I traslate and post them in "the Italian Forum of Martial Arts"?
Many, many peoples are entusiastic of the Weng Chun but someone makes confusion and there are some mistakes.
Infact someone think that the Weng Chun ground work has been taken by Behring JuJitsu.
They can't understand your friendship with Master Flavio, and they think that is a partnership.

Dear Fabio,
you are welcome to translate and post them on the Italian forum.
One interesting fact is that there are more styles that use our "southern shaolin groundfighting method" like Dog fighting, some Hung Ga styles etc. We are using mainly the legs and hips for groundfighting. In my next seminar I will show you in Italy our beautiful Weng Chun groundfighting and the difference to Behring Jiu Jitsu.
Ciao
