Man is this ever a busy forum. I have been wrestling with upper management about this forum since last I wrote.
I have invited almost every gym in the WT organization to participate here. Looks like nobody can see a benefit.
I DO!
The United States has always been a tough cookie for WT to crack. I have attributed this to poor management by the people who have been put in charge over the years. Some people are good instructors and not good business people, bottom line! Problems are also at times, political. This happens in every organization. My method has been to always promote my Sifu and not to concern myself with anything else except improving my Wing Tsun. I have supported all of the organizers even though they have not done much to support me. The organization in the United States will never get off the ground until the people who have been put in charge realize that as much as they would like to retain control of the purse it does not belong to them. Bad business practices, enormous egos, greed, jealousy, and other unprofessional behavior is not a way to grow a business but a way to give it a bad name. Recently a student of mine told me that an older brother of mine did nothing but ridicule my position after I reffered this student to learn from him while living in his area. An all around bad business practice. This person is in a key position in the organization here and has a bad habit of attempting to make himself look good by trying to make others look bad. This unfortunately is not the exception, it is the norm.
I know of several of my Sifu's naughty children who are waiting like dogs at a dumpster for him to retire for their own glorification. If you ain't famous now his retirement will do nothing but loose you in the mass of phonies that will surface the day it happens.:rol:

DubChenBadanger,

Welcome back to the Forum. Martial Arts is still a part of reality, meaning it has no exceptions. Just like any organization or group, it's the person that makes the difference. You could be studying the best system in the world but that doesn't guarantee that you will be the best.

In martial arts as an industry, the way we train our instructors is that we take them through three schools: business/management school, teaching school, and a school to learn, represent and perserve the art.

Good Luck.

Thank you for your warm reception even though I probably don't deserve it especially from you.
You are obviously a much bigger man than I am and I apologize for misjudging you.
There has always been quite a bit of tension between our school and others.
We have at times called these unfortunate difficulties "The Curse of Ng Mui" referring to her request that only one fitting disciple be taught during a lifetime.
I feel fortunate to have learned anything of the system at all because of this and have turned away 90% of the prospects who have learned of my gym and approached me to teach them. At times I feel ashamed of myself for teaching the other 9% because they are not worthy either.
I guess that would explain my impoverished condition and lack of position with my organization.
Thank you again for your kindness.

Cool!
Not really brutal Wing Tsun though.
Just a training tape.
Nobody takes Wing Tsun because the forms are beautiful. We take it because anyone stupid enough to fuq with a seasoned WT person is a mess when we are done beating them.
We have a saying to our opponents that goes:
"You are alive because I say you can live!"
Thank you for your submission.

Hi DubChenBadanger,

as I already wrote to you - it's good to hear from you again. And you are right - there is a benefit even if one was only writing here. But some people have to count a 'benefit' and carry their 'benefits' in their pocket.

It's sad that money and politics keep people away from a place where they can meet with other open-minded people. Of course, there would be tough discussions and even argues, but in the end there's something to learn for everybody.
