Hi,
I think Wing Chun, traditional Wing Chun and Yip Man-Ving Tsun means the the same style: All *ing*un that have come from/through Yip Man.
Wing Tsun is called the creation of Leung Ting, Weng Chun the style the Mr Hoffmann offers his students (about this styles history I don't know much about, but at the moment a lot of people here in Germany have got doubts about). In the story, that Weng Chun is the 'complete Ving Tsun' and that Yip Man learnt and thought only parts of the system I don't believe in.
Greetings

From what I have heard and very little I have seen,
Chi Sim Weng Chun is very different.
Were as most of the World has/uses Chi Sao, Chi Sim doesn't but rather applies its Kiu Sao. I heard its more of a grabbing type of style.
Andres Hoffman, the grandmaster of Chi Sim used to be on this forum. Its too bad that he isn't here to comment.
As for the other HK Wing Chun that originated from Yip Man, they are personal interpretations and different spelling/titles of Yip Man's art.
Well that is my take on it.

What is it like in Germany with Weng Chun and Wing Tsun?
And what is the story that you had mentioned?

What is it like in Germany with Weng Chun and Wing Tsun?
Well, Wing Tsun is famous for its
non working concepts (stance turning,
footwork, tactil reflexes, way of training
and teaching, etc.), its big money-making
and manipulating organization and a lot of
other strange things.
As I wrote before, I do not know a lot about Weng Chun, but some days before there was a discussion in a well known
German MA-forum, where it was talked about the history and motivation of Mr.Hoffmann and his teacher Cheng Kwong.
Looking at the style and its concepts I don't believe in this 'roots of Ving Tsun'-
thing.
What both, Wing Tsun and Weng Chun,
seems to love and need is the Uniform-, Level-, and Great-Grand-
Worldchief-Master-Sifu-thing:rolleyes: :D
