At the end of the month of May, one of our key World Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun Kung Fu Association committee member and Regional Director, William Elliopolis, will be relocating back to his hometown of Boston, MA. As we all know, William has been (and will continue to be) a key member of the committee in the Association under the guidance of Grandmaster Garrett Gee. Besides training and assisting the classes at the Hung Fa Kwoon in San Francisco, some of William’s projects included developing and organizing the Hung Fa Kwoon website (www.hungfakwoon.com), assisting the development of the Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun instructor’s manual, etc. William will continue to a be a (distant) contributor to the committee and his devotion of the art of the Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun will continue to grow and expand in the Boston Region.
With William’s relocation, Grandmaster Garrett Gee has appointed a new member to the (current) World Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun Kung Fu Association committee. Eric Muhlebach has been appointed the position of Secretary in the Association. Eric has been training at the Kwoon in San Francisco since March of 2002. Some of Eric’s martial arts background included 10 years of training under Grand Master Won Kuk Kim in the World Jungyae Moosul Federation. In the Federation, he was on the development committee, event planning committee and demonstration team. Eric developed and implemented a plan whereby seven schools were opened in the greater Seattle area. Besides martial arts, Eric’s profession led him to over 12 years of experience consulting retailers to develop and implement store development and expansion strategies based upon identifying key customer segments (Limited, Victoria's Secret, Estee Lauder, Sephora, Bed Bath & Beyond, H&M, Magnolia Audio Video etc.). In addition to consulting retailers, Eric consulted real estate investors by developing and executing investment and capital structure strategies for retail property owners/investors. In such capacities, more than $200 million worth of retail properties were sold and financed by Eric.
Eric will do his best to take up some of the work load left vacated by the relocation of William. Best of luck to both William on his chapter, and Eric, on his new responsibilities.
