Weng Chun Penzer brothers did it again! They win free fight championship in Germany, May 2006 !
At the freefight tournament FAC in Coburg Germany Felix and Nicolas Penzer became both the victory. They won all 5 fights thru K.O or their opponents gave up. Congratulation for this two wonderfull fighters and for their teacher Sifu Philipp Hackert. They showed on the matts how effective weng chun can be!

Hi
thanks for the video. I enjoyed watching it.
I wasn't sure who was who in the beginning but by the end i figure Mark was the Weng Chun guy.
Since i'm not familiar with Weng Chun, I didn't really see any distinction from the free style fighter to the weng chun guy.
Was there a peticular moment I should be watching for or some cool manuver that made a difference?

Hello sauchi,
thank you very much for taking time and watching our brother's first freefight!
Let me try to explain in my bad "german-english" why this is a beautiful
example for weng chun application:
In the beginning of the fight, Félix stays away of his opponent but in a "buot-bridge" position, from where he attacks with lowkicks to confuse him and is always in a better angle to go.
Then the opponent tries a kick and at the same time to go in a closer striking distance, but Félix's knee is up and he is ready to go in too. But the other fighter goes back and "destroys the bridge", so Félix makes no wrong attack but therefore stays in buot-bridge and continues to attack and confuse.
Then the opponent attacks with a swung fist (I am not sure about the right expression, sorry) which Félix absorbes by applying "tan - tuo" and hits him hard with a straight punch. This punch makes the opponent for one second freeze, which Félix uses to make "bik - hup", that means he can use the bridge with chain punshes to controll him totally, get in his back, throw him, controll him with "kwai ma" knee controll and would have finished him - but as I said on top, the helmet saved his opponent from the K.O. so I commanded from outside to use BJJ, which Félix did and submitted.
I can imagine, that many ving tsun fighters think of a bridge as something where you have to touch - jus as I did myself some years ago.
But all the bridges you apply in chisao can also be applied in a wider distance, without touching anything but controlling the space.
I hope I could make the weng chun a little clearer, but please feel free to ask further questions or correct me, because my biggest fight is right now the fight with the english language...
Greetings from the old world,
Philipp
