CSP,
According to the great philospher Zhu Xi, Li or "principle" exists in all things. Further he taught, the only way to understand this principle was through focused study. To focus, one must define boundaries of the investigation and then learn all there is to learn within those bounds. The key is to define boundaries that truly reflect what is important and filter out what is not essential to learning. Zhu called his focus or bounds "greater learning." MKF p.50 - 56
This gives insight to both the bounds of the wing chun formula and also those of the six gate theory.
