KPM a Guy in Foshan Kwangtung China Told me this about Hung Suen Wing Chun
KPM, you should read what I found out about Hung Suen Wing Chun in China by this guy in Foshan China this is what he said to me .
If you havent read what this guy says on this forum about Hung Suen Wing in China apparently he says there are 2 types of Wing Chun in China heres what he said ,
Hello, my english is also very poor. I only have seven years of gung fu experience under Ah Moon in China. I met some people before, their hands were very different than my school and pam nam school. I spoke to my teacher about this people. My teacher told me that he had also heard about hung suen from his teacher but himself had no knowlege about hung suen except some stories. But what I want to say is that it seems there are more than one branch of hung suen in China. Last year I was at the Jing Woo building, talking to Ah Han, he told me about this gong sau match between tong long and hung suen wing chun. This guy used his wing chun in certain ways was very different than what we do around here, at first Ah Han thought he was from hong kong or oversea. But this guy was actually a shanghai businessman from Nanjing and he told my friend that he learned his gung fu from a hung suen wing chun teacher in Tai Mo and I do not know if that is a county or city. And he said this
Hello, I personally do not know that Nanjing guy but Ah Han had a conversation with him after the match. That guy moved very fast in footwork and his wing chun techniques were very effective.. Ah Han and other local wing chun members could tell it was a different kind of wing chun, somehow we have never seen any wing chun like that. Something about these people, we just heard about them but don't know enough to say anything more.

Shaolin is a popular name in China and for centuries people have added it to their system, whether or not there was any connection, direct or indirect, to help attract students.

So, Rene.... you are speaking on behalf of all those individuals who use the name Shaolin - as if you apparently know their reasoning? I'd be more careful and try to leave the discussion more open to others when talking about this. Rene, some kung fu families out there do originate from a Shaolin heritage. Some families are proud of that heritage and it is THEIR identity. Do not be so eager to shun the Shaolin name just because of today's commercial marketing. Certainly there are schools out there who use the name to promote their business, but there are also others who use the name because to them it is a part of their kung fu identity.

Firehawk,
Not all truth will be discovered in what is to come; some must be recalled from what has been forgotten. The history of WCK which we properly believe, be only such as are received on the credit of divine testimony. Thank you for the info!
