I have been studying some thing with in the realms of healing and thought to share the info.
As poeple, we are mini. reps. of the world. Just as the world has five elements with in the enviroment, so are they apart of each endividual. We each possess characteristics symbolic of wood, fire, earth, metal and water. One of the elements will rise above the others and creat our behavior traits and our personality. Understanding our own personal Archetype gives us the opportunity to know ourselves better. With this knowledge, we can better predict how we will respond to situations, identify which situations we can excel in, and those we need to better prepare for. Just like our atackers, knowing who we are helps us to work with rather than against, our weaknesses and utilize our strengths appropriately. We can also learn how to better interact with other archetypes to enhance relations.
Wood- pioneer, the active one who implements ideas.
Fire- wizard, the one who stirs up passion and excitement.
Earth- peacemaker, the one who nurishes and supports others.
Metal- alchemist, the one who keeps things in order.
Water- philosopher, the thinker, conceiver of ideas.
According to Beinfield and Korngold, "as wood bends readily in the wind, the wood type is vulnerable to the gusts of change and sudden rage. Fire easily flares and the fire type is prone to inflammation and high anxiety. Earth becomes easily oversaturated, so the earth type is subject to edema and mental quagmire. Metal cuts away and restricts, so the metal type may become stiff and insensitive. Water freezes and hardens, so the water type is prey to sclerosis and isolation."
I have more to add if any one is interested in exploring self.
