Hello all,
As you know or most likely, may not know, I have been working on a short documentary on Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun. Oh, almost forgot. Let me introduce myself. My name is Dac Lam and am a student of Sifu Meng. I run a Wing Chun club in Kansas City and also make independent films on the side. This is my first thread so bare with me if I'm jumping around on subjects. So back to the mini-doc, I've finally completed it and it looks pretty good. I will soon send Sigung, Sifu, and Richard DVD's. I know I interviewed a lot of people along with some HFY disciples. The doc is short, less than 13 minutes long due to the time constraint of the film festival so if I leave anyone out that I interviewed, please don't take it personally. I tried to to weave everyone into the story but unfortunately 13 minutes is not much time. For some I interviewed, I.E. Allen Kung. The ambient noise at the restaurant was so loud that it was a huge distraction. I really tried everything to clean up the sound but it was impossible. What I did do, was in the DVD, I added a section for all the interviews that didn't make the final cut. They're fun and interesting to watch. So I hope you all enjoy it and send me an email or post a message if you have any further questions. Again I apologize for not including everyone in the doc but as they say in filmmaking, "it's all about the story". Take care and I'll see some of you soon.
