Nope, there is no photo of the uniforms
Cang Long
06-01-2003, 04:15 PM
Hello Cistano,
The class uniform is a T-shirt and traditional MA pants and if you click photos on the website you can see them and the traditional ceremonial uniform there and if you then phone the school directly I am sure they can better answer your questions on pricing directly.
Cistano
06-01-2003, 05:48 PM
Sifu Richard told me that the uniforms are the Black Kung Fu uniforms with white cuffs and frog buttons... and I just wanna know what they look like
Cang Long
06-01-2003, 09:08 PM
Hi again Cistano, yeah the best picture of those is on the second page of the photos you can see the childrens class all of them are wearing the uniform Sifu spoke of and its the same one the adults are issued. The little yellow sash is my daughter. :)
Cistano
06-02-2003, 01:18 AM
Well thats not a good picture but i guess its good enough ... So your daughter is learning Wing Chun ?
Do you know how much the uniforms are ?
Cang Long
06-02-2003, 02:29 AM
Cistano,
No I have no idea how much the uniforms would be sold for seperately Sifu provides them to the students when they sign up for instruction and to date I haven't had to purchase a second one. Yes my daughter trains with several others in the childrens classes and she enjoys it very much if you haven't already I invite you down to visit the school for yourself and I am sure Sifu will be glad to show you around the kwoon and give you his retail prices on any books, clothes, sports equipment or gift items you might be interested in.
Cistano

Your little daughter is adorable. You'll have a training partner in a couple of years.
Hope to see you soon.

Cistano
06-04-2003, 02:05 AM
why would you want to go there ... Is there something special going on there ?
Cang Long
06-04-2003, 02:08 AM
2 reasons more training and I have friends and family in San Francisco so its always a good time.
Cistano
06-04-2003, 02:09 AM
Oh alright, I just thought there was something special going on there, sorry for butting into your business
Cang Long
06-04-2003, 02:15 AM
no problem, often there are Seminars directly from Grandmaster Gee at the HFY Headquarters and then he will visit each individual kwoon and perform a seminar also. If you get the chance I invite you to attend the next one in Chandler.
Special events (http://home.vtmuseum.org/information/calendar/index.php)

06-04-2003, 02:28 AM
Well Im not part of Mengs Martial Arts of AZ yet .... not a student yet, Don't have the money to join.
Cang Long
06-04-2003, 02:31 AM
The Seminars are open to the public. Do you have any previous wing chun or martial arts experience?
Cistano
06-04-2003, 02:33 AM
Nope, wish I had the money to join...If I had the money I would have joined when i visted Meng's Martial Arts of Arizona.
Cang Long
06-04-2003, 02:38 AM
So you enjoyed your visit with Loewenhagen, sifu and the chandler kwoon? Hopefully you will soon get the opportunity to join our kung fu family.
Cistano
06-04-2003, 02:43 AM
Yes, sifu Loewenhagen was real nice, and the kwoon was amazing. Was real excited about joining but then relised I didnt have the money, lol.
But theres nothing I can do about money ... I get it as it comes to me.
Cang Long
06-04-2003, 03:14 AM
yeah I hear you loud and clear there...but life is cyclicle and things change hopefully things will change for the better and in the near future you will be able to join. Until then there is no limit to how many visit you can make :)
Cistano
06-04-2003, 03:30 AM
well if i keep on visitng, people will begin getting bugged by me being there.
Well when I get enough money I will end up joining.
After all the location of the school is great, because i just live down the street from it.
Cang Long
06-04-2003, 03:33 AM
I doubt that we have a very friendly lot and we all enjoy each other like family, members and non members alike.
Cistano
06-04-2003, 03:37 AM
lol , I remember the first time i wanted to learn Kung Fu ... it was when I was a kid and i saw Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, lol then what really got me intrested in Kung Fu was when I first saw Jet Li in Fist of Legend.
Hey I visited Meng's of AZ I think Friday... Sifu was teaching a small class (5 people) before he went to Vegas, were you one of those people he was teaching ?
Cang Long
06-04-2003, 03:41 AM
We all have a movie to relate to most people will say Bruce Lee but yes Fist of Legend was a good Jet Li remake of Bruce. Shaw Brothers productions were my habit growing up. The new matrix series has some excellent kung fu in it from what I have seen.
Cistano
06-04-2003, 03:46 AM
Hey I visited Meng's of AZ I think Friday... Sifu was teaching a small class (5 people) before he went to Vegas, were you one of those people he was teaching ?
Cang Long
06-04-2003, 03:54 AM
yes, I was in the evening class Friday around 7:30 or so. Did you enjoy the class?
Cistano
06-04-2003, 03:58 AM
Yes, he seems to be a good teacher ... I'm not sure if you were in the class when i visited but i was wearing a blue hat with sun glasses on it , I was there with someone else... If you were not in the class then oh well.
Cang Long
06-04-2003, 04:05 AM
I remember we had a visitor in class but that is about it. I was the one looking embarassed when his cell phone started ringing in the middle of class. :D
Cistano
06-04-2003, 04:10 AM
was that your cell phone ? lol, yea i was the visiter.
So what was that salute thing you did ?
Cang Long
06-04-2003, 04:15 AM
yeah that was my phone, have to remember to turn that thing off from now on... That was a very interesting class don't you think Sifu was teaching some of the principles of chum kiu energy very interesting stuff I think.
Cistano
06-04-2003, 04:19 AM
Yea I feel sorry for the guy sifu demostrated on, lol ... So what was that salute thing you did before and after you left the mat ?
Cang Long
06-04-2003, 04:23 AM
oh I was bowing with respect once to leave and once to enter. We do it when we enter and leave the kwoon and also when we enter and leave the training mat.
Cang Long
06-04-2003, 04:25 AM
oh I think Sifu was demonstrating on Mark and that night wasn't too bad. Some of the Chin Na (grappling holds) are a lot harder on the body.
Cistano
06-04-2003, 04:26 AM
oh, alright, nice ... so if i join i have to learn to do that when ever i leave and enter the kwoon and training mat
Cang Long
06-04-2003, 04:32 AM
yeah its one of the first things you learn you can also learn more about some our traditions and customs through the museum web site.
http://www.vtmuseum.org/
You can also use this forum by starting threads and asking questions like you already have.
Cistano
06-04-2003, 04:36 AM
thats why i have you to bug with all my questions :) lol ... as you can already see i have a some what of a sense of humor
Cang Long
06-04-2003, 04:38 AM
Good sense of humor is a healthy thing I been known to throw in a wise crack ever now and then myself. So how did you find the kwoon?
Cistano
06-04-2003, 04:42 AM
Search "Kung Fu schools in Arizona" found this one 2 days later after going through millions of sites ... but before I found it i searched for "Tai Chi schools in AZ" Martial Art Scools" etc ... must let you know if Richard gets mad he's known to go and get one of his swords from collection and decapitate someone, lol im kidding
Cang Long
06-04-2003, 04:49 AM
Why were you searching for tai chi schools?
Did you find Chaudhuri, Sifu's school?
Cistano
06-04-2003, 04:50 AM
Yea as you said before, The Matrix Reloaded does have some nice Kung Fu scense, long but nice
Cistano
06-04-2003, 04:51 AM
Because I saw Jet Li use Tai Chi in Twin Warriors and I thought that would be kinda cool to learn
Cang Long
06-04-2003, 04:54 AM
I just watched Tai Chi II on action theatre the other day :D
You thought Reloaded was long?
Cistano
06-04-2003, 04:59 AM
no I thought one of the fight scense was long when he was fighting the millions of the ex-agent ...not sure if you saw it or not so im not gonna say anything else about the movie
Cang Long
06-04-2003, 05:05 AM
yeah I saw it twice already and probably go watch it again this weekend. After the ending to the Matrix all of Neo's fight scenes in Reloaded would have to be seen as long and for effect only. When Neo fought Seraph that was visually stunning to watch it was one of the best fight scenes I have seen since Jet Li fighting Jet Li in the One ironically enough.
Cistano
06-04-2003, 05:08 AM
damn, now I really wish i had the money to join the class !!!:( ... It's just too much of a sign up fee and the monthly fee is some what ok
Cang Long
06-04-2003, 05:15 AM
Sifu is very considerate of peoples indivdual circumstances and situations you just need to keep showing him you are interested and I am sure he will work with you to come up with a plan that works for both of you. The key is to just show him you are sincere and committed to learning.
Cistano
06-04-2003, 05:16 AM
lol , how can I do that when I cant even join the class ?
Cang Long
06-04-2003, 05:22 AM
Just show up to classes and ask questions and let Sifu get to know you, create a presence and he will see you are serious and he will be willing to work with you.
Cistano
06-04-2003, 05:25 AM
lmao , if I keep showing up to the classes, i wont even have to pay for the class to learn :D
Cang Long
06-04-2003, 05:31 AM
lol that is a two way street you would be surprised how many people witnessed classes as they were there to pick-up a friend or something like that and then they end up joining. If you join you enjoy going and if you enjoy going you join.
Cistano
06-04-2003, 05:33 AM
thats the point, i already wanna join but i cant because of one problem $$$
Cang Long
06-04-2003, 05:44 AM
In Hung Fa Yi we call this fau kiu, in other words where there is a will there is a way Sifu will work with you to help you find that way you just have to be willing to do your part. If you ask any of the current students I am sure they would tell you its worth that effort.
Cistano
06-04-2003, 05:50 AM
:p i'll just bug the hell out of sifu through his email , lol :D thats what i've been doing before i visited ;) and i've got to say once i have enough money I WILL JOIN THE CLASS !!! YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE LAST OF ME , lol I will go there and kick some ***, or get my *** kicked either way I WILL JOIN THE CLASS :D My goal is to join the class and learn as much as I can.
Cang Long
06-04-2003, 05:54 AM
lol that's a start and I am sure Sifu enjoys the email. Sifu is guiding top notch students to become instructors so you will always have a place to learn so no hurry and no worries ;)
Cistano
06-04-2003, 05:58 AM
i mean im not a fast learner it takes me time to learn something, im not the smart one of the bunch either but that hasnt stoped me yet :D i mean getting to the class isnt going to be a problem, because i live like behind the school lol, i mean not behind it :) but the street behind the building
Cang Long
06-04-2003, 06:07 AM
oh man then you have no excuse for not stopping in and visiting with Sifu and exchanging ideas and experiences. If you read this forum you can get a head start on your learning and stay on top of it as well. When you enjoy somethng it just makes it that much easier to learn and you sound like you already enjoy Martial Arts.
Cistano
06-04-2003, 06:12 AM
yep sure do ... i like the movies, like the styles, like the uniforms ... now all i need to do is learn the style i chose , Wing Chun, but once again, I cant learn wing chun without the money
Cang Long
06-04-2003, 06:21 AM
aaaah wing chun you picked the Jewel of the family, in my opinion of course I am bias but you will be also once you start training with us crazies hehehehehe
Cistano
06-04-2003, 06:24 AM
"bias" whats that ? ..... Do you know of any jobs that are hiring ?Where do you work ?
Cang Long
06-04-2003, 06:34 AM
Well according to some bias means brainwashed by a person of authority or influence, hehehehe Actually I am unaware of anyone hiring right now but if that changes I'll let you know. Presently I work for Level3 communications
Cistano
06-04-2003, 06:41 AM

Cistano
06-04-2003, 06:50 AM

Cang Long
06-04-2003, 06:52 AM
lol so what is wrong with talking with people....so customer service is just out of the question ;)
Cistano
06-04-2003, 06:53 AM
long story ... yes that is OUT of the question, lol
Cistano
06-04-2003, 06:54 AM
