Joy – Hendrik’s Cheerleader
Let’s call a spade a spade. Joy continuously jumps on the Hendrik HFY bashing bandwagon which he claims is not the case. He takes every opportunity to put down HFY in the public.
Let’s just take a look a couple of his statements in just one thread…..
Most CMAs in search of historical prestige mechanically claim shaolin.
Besides, I read their book- and gave it away. End of my curiosity...honest.
Hendrik seems to easily disturb duende, Chango, da moose, savi and the HFY crowd! Their problem. I dont think that he takes pride in that. His own center is seemingly not easily disturbed. Who is this guy trying to kid. Hendrik’s center has been known to be vulnerable and once again he has run away when the hard questions are asked…
But he (Hendrik) is a critic of cookbook Chan and pseudoscience (a.k.a. HFY).
(Hendrik) pointed to the historic ethics connection in Buddhist approaches to martial arts and pointed out that unlike many martial arts, wing chun is not about technique. Wow, how enlightening (NOT).
He states ” Why make anything of it- over these months now. Why not let it be.”
And right before says “Once before Lowenhagen "challenged" me "your place or mine"(approx)when supposedly I had disturbed the harmony of the universe. I laughed and declined.”
The chief instructor or owner of the school- a man identified as having big ears possibly Lowenhagen(?)- began to speak about HFY to the three visitors.
JOY is no friend of HFY. – Can anyone answer why?
My belief is that his feelings towards HFY stems from being jealous and the fact that many Augustine Fong students, after seeing HFY first hand, decided there was more to this type of WC and joined HFY. I doubt that all of his educated students would fall for “a marketing scheme”.
Over 90% of the people involved in HFYWC have backgrounds in Wing Chun and most of the other 10% have some type of martial arts background. Each of these students came to their own realization that HFY has much to offer and are proud to be members of the system.
Who is this character Hendrik anyway?
Nobody, he is not a sifu, he is not an expert in ALL STYLES of Wing Chun as he thinks. He believes he can make sweeping insults towards kung fu families without any repercussions and he thinks he is the biggest hahaha comedian on the forum and can laugh everything off. He is not recognized in the martial arts community as an authority on anything (except from Joy and Rene)
I hope that this Hendrik character is off to a greener pasture. I’m sure that he is still busy reading every single post all day and all night.
What needs to be understand is
“there is a consequence to every action and word that he speaks or types”.
