Hi all. Just thought I would share this Demo clip, http://www.wck-media.co.uk/general//sifu_lewadny_student_demo.mpg , of myself and another instructor(Sifu Cornelio Martens), it's from last January at the University of Calgary. I'm the tall one with shorter hair on the left during the Chi-Sao part. Sorry for the low quality video, as the person taping it was using a regular picture digital camera that had a limited video option.

Thanks for sharing a little about yourself. I had a lot of trouble seeing what was happening because you moved pretty fast. Did any one get a better look at the clip?
Again thanks for sharing your attributes.

Well I think the main problem in the seeing thing is the quality of the video and the camera that was used. I do get kinda excited in the demo's and sometimes start moving pretty fast at times, but it is a good effect for the people to see how the WC really works and how it should be applied. I will try to get more clips up soon, I just have to convert them to Digital.

Curious, does anyone have any clips of HFY Wing Chun out there? All I've seen so far is picture clips, but it would be cool to see a little video too.

Hey james. I just checked out your clip pretty nice. Im just curious about a couple things. Were the high kicks i saw and spinning back punches thrown in for the demo for some flare and entertainment or taught in your linieage. Im just curious im not shure what kwoon u are affiliated with. ill definatly check out your next clips. keep them comin

Ryanjetli,
The spin kick/punch is not really formally taught in the school, but Sifu and others no the techniques as we have lots of people that are from other styles. If you are going to be able to defend against these things then you need to know how to perform them for your partner. Usually when I defend a technique and use a high kick to counter it is usually for show, but in some circumstances it may be used in a real situation. As for what kwoon I am affiliated with I am not in the HFY organization. My Sifu has only learned Wing Chun from two people, a Simon Fung from the Wong Shun Leung lineage and GM William Cheung in Australia. Sifu has set up his own organization, Canadian Wing Chun Kung-Fu Association, www.wingchun-canada.com if you are interested in more info on us. I am trying to get more clips ready for the internet, I will let you know when they are ready..
Thanks for the compliment.

Thanks james for the quick reply. I agree with u that in order to defend against such tactics we should be familiar with them as well. we have alot of people with many different backrounds as well wich is such a benefit for us in order to get a perspective of what there style offers and what they perseved as reallity in combat. keep those posts coming. thanks
