Question about the clip, were the techniques and concepts shown representative of beginner, intermediate or advanced methods, or all?
Thanks in advance.

I really like this clip as it shows how Chi sim is a very live system. It's a very beautiful thing to watch. The gentlemen in the clips did a really good job displaying the skill gained through training. I find it to be an inspiration.

Hello weng chun friends:
To Sihing,
most of the exercises are from the beginner and intermediate programme.
To all: On Kung Fu Online Forum our mantis friend wrote:
THank you, Sifu Hoffman
It is a great privilege to see Weng Chun in action. I have been a silent observer for the efforts and works of your Weng Chun Kung Fu mostly because I am a practitioner of Chiu Chuk Kai Tai Chi Praying Mantis. I have always been interested in finding out GM Chiu's comment about the similarity of his Kung Fu and his sworn brother GM Chu Chong Men's Kung Fu. Through these clips, I am satisfied that there are indeed similarty in the flow of combat elements. I think you would term it as Lau (leaking) if I am not mistaken.
Indeed these are great stuff and thank you very very much for sharing them.
With deep and sincere appreciation,
Robert Hui (Mantis108)

Thanks for the answer to my question GM Hoffman, and please call me James.
I was interesting to watch especially the first part of the video, where the Sifu was standing square toward the camera and moving only his hips (only slightly) and performing hand movements, it reminded me of a karate form I have seen before and some different styles of kung-fu. Also was he practicing Fa Jing when moving his hips that way, similar to Erle Montague's explainations of Fa Jing, from what I witnessed?

GM Hoffmann,
Wouldn't there be also a video on the "Weng Chun pole wooden dummy"?:) :) :)
Thanks for the clip. I enjoy watching the demos.
Tell me, why do they wear gi's and belts? Is this style of japanese influenced?

I knew that date of the thread, but I thought the clip was worth talking about.
I checkout the website and I guess they are now doing BJJ.

Hi RAB,
thx for the feedback to the Vid.
No, we are not Japanese influenced. We wear Gis because them are practical for training. There are many thing that can not be trained with t-shirts - the cloth of the GIs is quite firm.
The belts are a kind of interim solution. In the past we didntīt find a producer of sashes that are firm enough for our needs. But now we found someone who can make firm sashes, so we will convert to that.
And another "No":
We are not doing only BJJ.
Some of our teachers offer BJJ ( Behring BJJ ) in there scool in addition to Weng Chun Kung Fu. Some , like me , only do Weng Chun.

No, just kidding. Sorry, I couldn't resist.
Armin.
